The Best Ways to Save Water in Daily Life

Water is one of the most important element on the earth for the life preservation. As we see with the cost of water going up and more and more areas are drought-stricken and people struggling for the water. So now, it is perfect time to understand the responsibly and start saving the conserving water around your home. Although it is not possible to do anything about the amount of rain and snow that falls, but we can try to store that water somehow if possible for gardening or any other same kind of usage.

Some of the following tips that can be helpful to save water:

  • Don’t leave water tap running- if there is no need of water then off the tap.
  • Check the toilet leaks, if coloring is appearing in the bowl without flushing means it’s having leak that may waste more than 100 gallons of water in a single day.
  • Stop using the toilet as wastebasket or ashtray, because cigarette’s tissue or butt flushing may use the 5 to 7 gallons of water in a day.
  • Take shorter shower, either off or limit your shower at soap up time.
  • Always install the flow restrictors or water-saving shower heads.
  • Try to take bath with bucket or tub because it takes less water than shower heads.
  • While brushing your teeth or shaving, off the tap.
  • Check pipes and faucets for leaks.
  • Using dishwasher use about 25 gallons of water so always full load your dishwasher before use.
  • Use your washing machine only for the full loads to save water.
  • Put the vegetables in any bowl or sink then rinse, don’t let the tap or faucet run at vegetable cleaning time.
  • Instead of the wasteful practice of running tap to cool that water, you can keep a drinking water bottle in the refrigerator.
  • Gather water in a dish rack if you wash dishes by hand then rinse them quickly with a pan of water or spray device.
  • Don’t do watering your lawn or garden every time, do the watering for your lawn when it needs water.
  • Do watering always in cool part or the day like morning, it helps to prevent the fungus growth.
  • Make a layer of mulch around the plants and trees.
  • Use a broom to clean steps, sidewalks and driveways.
  • While washing your car, soap down the car from a soapy water pail instead of putting the hose running.
  • Keep your eyes on monthly water bills and check for the spikes in your usage.

Not only these, there are so many other ways to stop the wasting of water. Making small to small changes around our home for saving water can play a better role and would be a good habit that can be a great saving of water for ours future.
